In these difficult times, ships from around the world arrive at the mouth of the Douro to load Porto wine. This year’s production is scarce because phylloxera has decimated the vines of the region.
 
The great companies send their rabelo boats up the Douro river, in the hope that small wine producers will load them with barrels.
 
To save the year 1872 from financial disaster, it will take the bravery and generosity of all who live on the edge of this beautiful treasure called the Douro!
